Kumasi and Dortmund are sister cities. On May 14, 2024, Her Excellency Mrs. Gina Ama Blay, Ghana’s Ambassador to Germany, joined a delegation from Kumasi, led by Mayor Samuel Pyne, in celebrating the City Partnership between Dortmund and Kumasi. Hosted by Dortmund’s Mayor, Honorable Thomas Westphal, the event included the signing of the Sister City Agreement and entry into Dortmund’s Golden Book. This partnership aims to enhance collaboration in cultural, economic, environmental, educational, and tourism sectors, aligning with Ghana’s strategy of enhancing local governance through shared knowledge and mutual support.
